What Are the Window Tinting Laws in Texas?
Texas allows many options in regards to window tinting shades for your car or truck. Assuming your installer follows the application rules, you can benefit from this great service without worrying about any issues with local law officials. Four different conditions must be met to have a legal automotive tinting application. -All tinting devices must be above the AS-1 line on the vehicle or end five inches below the top of your windshield. -Vehicular tinting in Corpus Christi cannot be blue, amber, or red. -Untinted or transparent UV film is permitted without a medical exemption on all windows. -Tinting products must have light transmittance and luminous reflectance values of 25% or less. Front side windows must allow more than 25% of the available light into the vehicle. A rear window can use window tint at any darkness along with side outside mirrors. Backside windows permit any tinting darkness level. Your doctor can prescribe a darker window tint than what Texas law allows.
